This afternoon, while doing some P.R. work at the GCFA ferret
shelter, we got a call from a friend who had just picked up an animal from
the Chicago "Anti-Cruelty Society" (SPCA). She said that while she was
there, she noticed a ferret in the cage above the one her animal was in.
We called the ACS and talked with someone 'in charge' who told us that
yes, they did have a ferret there and that it was scheduled for euthanasia
(read: murder) Monday Morning.  Our President, Norm Stilson , offered to
come and pick up ther ferret, thus saving not only its life, but saving
their contributor's money (for the euthanasia). They told him that there
was NO WAY they would surrender the ferret to a ferret shelter as we had
philosophical differences with the policies of the ACS.
This is not the first time they have  killed ferrets. Each time they
produced a form letter to all who wrote in protest. The same tired
argument about the ferret not being a domesticated pet . I'm fired up and
am in the beginning stages of a massive campaign to let them know that it
won't be tolerated much longer. If you'd like to help. Write:
