Hello. I haven't written since last Fall when I was looking for a home for
my ferret Laska, after having to give her up for medical reasons. I miss
her a lot but am happy to report that she is in a great home and has become
fast friends with her new buddy Jill. I've enjoyed reading about ferret
antics in this list for the past few months now that I cannot have my own
ferret.
I've noticed a number of postings about dogs eating ferret food and wanted
to let you know about a solution I used once when Laska and I visited some
friends who had a little dog. At first the dog scooped up all of Laska's
food in one mouthfull. So I put her food in the little airline cabin
carrier that I'd brought her in and left the hatch door on the top open.
Laska loved going in there anyway and was happy to get her food in there.
The dog, of course, couldn't fit in. By the way, I attached a little rat
water bottle to the outside of the carrier with the spout sticking into the
carrier - that worked for travelling as well. (I am talking about one of
the little under the seat carriers that cost about $20. - make sure you
get the kind with bars on top and a little hatch door).
Thanks for all the ferret antics - it helps make up for not having a
real little carpet shark around.
