happy to hear there are more of us michigan ferrets owners around, but no, i
haven't heard anything from the the glfa about legalization in april.  it
would be cool though
 
my three year old had your ferret's exact same problem after a botched de-
scenting.  it was terrible.  he lost most of his weight and wimpered and
cried all the time.  dr. daldin (ann arbor animal hospital) gave him pepto
bismo (without the asprin in it) and some sort of enzyme/bacteria goo that
i had to give him multiple times a day, plus forcing feeding him water.  after
about two weeks, he made of full recovery.
 
i would suggest you ask her about a treatment.
