For our pair, the "dook" ranges between sort of a back-of-the-throat
"urt-urt" and a kind of burbling chuckle. I guess Rocko does indeed
have an accent. :)

Ferrets don't so much deliberately cough up hairballs as gag when
swallowed hair tickles the backs of their throats. That sometimes
brings up clumps of hair and a bit of greenish foam. Intestinal
blockage can be a problem, and regular doses of Laxatone or Petromalt
can help prevent it. (Also see the FAQ. :-)
