Thanks for the info...and I would really appreciate and like to get on
the mailing list. I hope you get this mail since someone already
sent me mail about you, but I have been unsuccesful about getting
it to you.
Yes Patty is a female and she is also spayed. And we did get a book
from the library that I believe is the one you suggested. So it looks
like I might be on the right starting line.
I understand from uunet my direct path is [log in to unmask]
Would appreciate any tips about starting our life with our ferret
since she is only 8-10 weeks old. She likes to be held, is
content to be caged up while we work. Shes real playful and seems
to be teething since she puts her teeth around our fingers (but not
biting).
[This seems to be something that your ferret may grow out of, or not.
Our two females (both at least a year old) still do no matter how
much we scold them, Toby never did.]
The only real problem we seem to have is trying to
make this litter box thing work. It seems a soon as we give her
a little freedom, shes looks for a corner to go to the bathroom.
All we seem to do is pick her up and put her back in the cage when
this happens.
[We haven't had much luck with ours. The books talk about gradually
giving them more room, decreasing their freedom if it doesn't work (until,
if necessary, that they have to make a choice between the litter pan
and their bedding), and scolding them loudly when they do have accidents.]
Any help will be be greatly appreciated.
Laurie
