Greetings all from the most ancient lurker,
The reason for me being a lurker for so long is my name.
Please ignore it!!! It is not a joke and I really need to be taken
seriously. Usually questions I have some one else brings up and I
have not needed to raise my head (my thanks to the person who brought
up the hairless tail/black spots topic). But I haven't seen this
covered, or I have been remiss somewhere along the line.
My abode has recantly been infested with fleas. No the little
ones are not to blame. A certain feline, who will remain nameless, was
the rotter. My roommate & I have been doing everything we can to get
rid of these things. The kids get baths regularly, everything in the
apt. is regularly washed, vacuumed, etc. I figure that the problem is
with the little ones themselves. No matter how well they are bathed
they still end up with a few hangers on. The cat is fine, has her own
flea collar now. But I'm frightened to put a collar on the kids as
I think they are poisonous.
Enter a friend stage right. She shows me an advert for a collar that
is not poisonous. Apparently it inhibits the fleas from reproducing.
It does this with some marvels called PRECOR IGR (Insect Growth
Regulator) & "natural pyrethrins". The company promoting this is
called "VET-KEM." I was hoping to attach a collar to a harness. The
Kids will not be impressed but... Any ideas? I really do not want to
do this until I know for sure that this stuff will not hurt the
little ones. Any info would be appreciated!
Cheers,
Ferret
