OKAY! I posted this once, and never saw it, it must have gotten lost in
the mailer-mangle.
Here's the way *I* see it, and anyone else is free to disagree..
California is fighting theit battle, Georgia is fighting, New Hampshire
is fighting, Kansas is fighting, and Utah is fighting - but we are all
SEPERATE!
I was wondering, what would happen if we set a date, say, a month from
now, and try to get ALL these phone numbers to ALL the ferret clubs and
groups, then, on the set-apart-date (a week, not just a one-day-date)
have EVERYONE call Geraldo, or NBC or ALL of the numbers (cost you maybe
2 or three dollars for 4 or 5 short LD calls) and tell them "I'm a ferret
owner, I own the third-most-popular domestic pet in the U.S. and I want
the RIGHTS my pet deserves!"
- If they got 50,000 to 1,000,000 calls, do you think they would listen?
I fully agree thet we ALL need to do this, even if ferrets are perfectly
legal in our states (You're next on the list if they are banned in the
states with problems) - when you call, give Geraldo or Sally Jesse or
whoever the number of an agreed-upon spokesperson (the McDowells, the
AFA, SOMEONE!) and say we want justice!
There are over a million ferret owners in the U.S., and 10,000,000
ferrets - we DO have a voice, IF we could ALL stand together..
That's my idea, I know others have said it already, but what if we used
the McDowells, or NH, or Georgia as a springboard to get some coverage?
Not just for the one state, but for the U.S. as a whole!
(Remember, the U.S. Government DOES class ferrets as `domestic, pet-type
animals' - we want the REST of the states to follow the U.S!)
Allright, I've said my piece, please lets all discuss this and if there
are any reasons why it WOULDN'T be a good idea to all take a stand at
once, all across the U.S., let's find out what they are!
How do the rest of you feel about this idea?
