> 1: What's the best food for my ferret?

We use Science Diet Feline Maintenance (dry) for our ferret as well as our
cats (they all eat from the same dish.) We sometimes supplement with
Linatone, sometimes with garlic and brewers' yeast to discourage fleas.

2: What's the best cat litter to use for my ferret?

My wife had our ferret before we were married, and she trained our ferret to
newspaper in the corners rather than to a litter box. A bit unfortunate in
retrospect, because we are now stuck with ferret-paper in the corner of each
room of the house. Needless to say, I don't reccomend this course.

> 4: How large does his cage need to be?

We give our (female) ferret free run of the house; She spends a good part of
the day curled up in my wife's sock drawer, the laundry basket, or whatever
other soft, warm place she can find. Of course, if you have a still-scented
male, you may not want your socks to smell too strongly of ferret. I am
curious: how many other people do not keep their ferrets caged?

We are thinking, however, that it will probably make sense to cage her as soon
as our newborn baby starts crawling around the floor. I suspect that unless
introduced slowly she would simply walk up and bite it. Anyone have any
thoughts on that?
