Most people don't know the real story of why Guiliani banned ferrets
in 1999. An animal advocate took stealth cameras into one or more of
NYC's animal shelters and captured the deplorable conditions there and
publicized it. Guiliani knew that this advocate was a ferret lover who
had 4 of his own and also placed other ferrets that were given to him
(along with cats & dogs). Guiliani wanted to get back a him so he put
ferrets on the list of banned animals, along with lions, tigers &
bears, oh my! What he used as as reason was that some "unnamed" vet
in NH said a ferret had torn a baby's eyelid. What a bunch of crap.
Why was the vet unnamed? Why a vet from NH? He may have also used the
excuse that they could get into the pipes in old buildings. Another
load of BS.

So please, just take a minute to sign the petition.
