First, you can look up Texas ferret rescues on petfinder.com. Between
that and google you can probably find most of them. But there may be
lots... Texas is a big place.

Shelters usually keep records so if you know when it was taken from the
shelter, together with the gender and color you stand a decent chance
of finding out. [...]39_12Feb201422:14:[log in to unmask] 1402 1716 37 46_Re: Crunch time for Rescuer's Relief-- 60 days11_Lisa [log in to unmask], 13 Feb 2014 12:16:24 -0800352_- 60 days until Rescuer's Relief hits the road giving ferret rescuers a
chance to take a real day or two off, publicize their operation and
hopefully get more community support in doing so.. the journey will
be a long one (over 11,000 miles) and we expect that it will be one
adventure after another ::read:: not without difficulties. [...]56_13Feb201412:16:[log in to unmask] 1402 1754 16 45_Re: Which TX Ferret Rescue a ferret came [log in to unmask], 14 Feb 2014 18:26:58 -0500394_- >From: KattPatt of Sammy's Clubhouse <[log in to unmask]>

Do you have the name of the ferret owner? Adoption records can be
checked by TX shelter operators if we know that. Has the ferret been
scanned for a microchip? The provider has a record of each animal and
their owners information. [...]38_14Feb201418:26:[log in to unmask] 1402 1771 21 34_Re: AliveCor heart monitor now OTC12_Lonny [log in to unmask], 13 Feb 2014 22:21:23 -0800360_- It should also be noted that there are some decent free heart rate apps
available for Android that use the phone's camera.

They may not work as well as AliveCor but they may suffice for someone
on a budget.

I use one called "Instant Heart Rate" and it works very well. There are
probably some available for iPhones too. [...]39_13Feb201422:21:[log in to unmask] 1402 1793 57 66_Assessment of a blood preservation protocol for use in ferrets ...14_Sukie [log in to unmask], 14 Feb 2014 15:46:51 -0500809_- http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24523302

Abstract
Blood transfusion has been described in ferrets as a treatment for
oestrus-associated anaemia and as a life-saving therapy following
trauma, iatrogenic (usually surgery-induced) anaemia, autoimmune
haemolytic anaemia and pure red cell aplasia. Although blood banking
is a common method for storage of [...]35_14Feb201415:46:[log in to unmask] 1402 1851 49 17_Anti Mukluk [log in to unmask], 15 Feb 2014 09:38:54 -0500415_- I always keep Mukluk in his cage except for night where he runs loose
in the bedroom and he eventually crawls under the bed spread to sleep
with me. I have often said if a ferret wants to get someplace for sure
he/she will get there. I did let Mukluk run loose around the house for
a bit and he loved that and wanted to explore ore so he searched the
cage for a way out. For sure he found it. [...]46_15Feb201409:38:[log in to unmask] 1402 1901 30 19_Chloe and the Stars10_Pie O' [log in to unmask], 15 Feb 2014 22:13:13 -0500302_- On

> 1. Anyway to find out where a ferret came from - TX rescue

In answer to that to see if the ferret came from our rescue, ALL of our
ferrets are microchipped. She could go y a vets office or the animal
control and they can scan it. We do it right behind the left elbow but
it can move around some. If you have the #, I can look it up and know
its history of where it came to us from, the vet records, who it was
adopted to and when.
