Priscilla, as you know, in ferrets IBD is a catchbucket phrase for intestinal problems that are otherwise undiagnosed. Some ferrets with neural crest genetic variants have incorrect innervation of either of the intestines, the stomach, or a combination. The neural crest genetic variation considered to be most likely in ferrets is KIT. That variation will be why there were the blaze, the deafness, and extraneous white patches.
