[log in to unmask], 4 Jun 2012 10:41:02 -0400590_- At the risk of sounding like a bully, and "tarring all with the same
brush", both a good neighbor and I have run into the same "hook and
reel 'em in" attitude with a VCA hospital in Colorado. That being said,
we all know what "emergency" hospitals charge, just to let you in the
door, however, "VCA" hospitals, according to what I can dig up are
all part of a network which dictates what they charge and what their
procedures are. We had exactly the same situation as yours happen
with a cat at a VCA hospital, yet, I had [...]37_4Jun201210:41:

1206 1090 26 17_Guelph University13_Inge
[log in to unmask], 4 Jun 2012 17:26:43 -0400462_- I live in Ontario Canada. I have been reading the posts about Guelph
University.
In my area there are no vets that will operate on an adrenal
ferret. They tell me that Guelph University, a veteranian college in
Ontario Canada believes that luperon is the way to go rather than
surgery. I find this very frustrating. I have talked to vets that
used to do the surgery but now will no longer do it because of what
Guelph tells them. [...]38_4Jun201217:26:

1206 1117 49 41_Closure of OVC avian & exotics
[log in to unmask], 4 Jun 2012 20:03:07 -0400757_- Just wanted to clarify something, because unfortunately what's in the
Guelph Mercury article about OVC
<http://www.guelphmercury.com/news/local/article/736719--ovc-to-close-avian-exotic-animal-clinic>
is a bit misleading. I'm the Sinzig he was talking about, but the
reporter didn't get the "my ferrets will be ok" thing from me - I told
him quite the opposite in fact. Yes, the first thing everyone in the
OVC administration says is "we'll still see ferrets". Unfortunately
their Primary Healthcare Centre isn't the same thing at all as seeing
the avian/exotics specialists at the teaching hospital. The PHC will
handle simple things like vaccinations, general wellness exams, etc. -
the kind [...]41_4Jun201220:03:

[log in to unmask], 4 Jun 2012 01:41:28 -0700590_- My goodness!
I appreciate the loyalty and positive emails I've received very much,
and now I think it would benefit the ferrets more to put the nonsense
to bed and get back on topic.
Deva, I love ya lady. I appreciate your comments as well, but I cannot
take credit for the day-to-day operations of CDFEA. That credit goes to
the small band of rescuers and shelter ops there in So. Cal that have
taken in literally hundreds of ferrets the past few years, saving them
from harm. They are the ones making sure these babies are given proper
nutrition [...]42_4Jun201201:41:
