* The UC-Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program is a privately funded
program that operates solely on generous contributions by people like
you. To make a tax-deductible donation, please visit the School of
Veterinary Medicine's online gift page and scroll down to select CCAH:
Koret Shelter Medicine Program. Thank you for your support!
Our goals are:
To advance shelter medicine as a veterinary specialty through research,
specialty training and education, and performance of veterinary service
in animal shelters. To improve the quality of life of animals in
shelters through improvements in veterinary preventive medicine and
management of disease.
This website has been designed as a resource for all those involved
with homeless animal care. Please take some time to browse around;
while much practical information can be found under the "shelter health
portal", we also have lecture notes and continuing education
opportunities posted under "education", links to other valuable
websites (in the "links" section of course), and other hidden gems for
your interest and edification. If you have a few minutes to spare, try
out the "search" function and see what other questions are being asked
by your colleagues under "FAQs". And finally, please let us know how we
can serve you better, so you can better serve the homeless animals we
all care about.
