I too use newspaper for litter and I've been using if for almost two
decades now. I get the papers for free from the library.

I've tried various other types of litter but the papers have proved by
far to be the most practical for me. I have some in litter trays and
others I simply put on the floor in the corners and areas where they
go. Cleaning is very easy, i just pick up the paper and fold it and
throw it away. On a few occasions a ferret might trash a paper, with
it's content, and that makes for more cleaning ;).

I keep my ferrets outdoors as well as indoors, and the papers work
equally well out in the toilet areas of the enclosures (under roof).
