Hi, gang!

Lucie's recent post requesting the names of ferret vets in the
Asheville/Black Mtn., NC, area was encouraging. We all need to think
ahead like that -- have on hand the contact information for a ferret
vet at our vacation destination, at stair-step intervals during a long
journey, and a back-up for when our primary go-to is out of town.

A note to old and new that there is a search tool for USA ferret vets.
The site can look them up by distance from a zip code or within a
chosen state.

Double-check that your ferret-knowledgeable vet is on the site's list!
Email the site owners if not.

The only flaw in the search tool I've found is that no distinction
is made between general-practice vets and surgeons. We all know to
interview a potential vet for specific expertise before our ferrets
visit, but I would like to read on this site "Surgeon and GP for
shelter" or "GP with Deslorelins -- No adrenal/Insulinoma surgeries."

Dooks to you and yours,

Lori Parker
