Many of you know the story of "Amazing Grace" - her owners left her to
die in the hallway of their apartment building after they moved. But
the abuse had started long before that. She was, quite literally, skin
and a backbone when she was picked up by Washington Metro Area Ferret
Outreach, and within hours of dying. She was immediately brought to the
vet and put into intensive care where she stayed for weeks. Adrenal,
severely anemic and starved - it was hard to believe that she could
still hold on. The Blizzard Fund was created for ferrets just like
Grace. The abused and neglected are never forgotten though, as The
Blizzard Fund is right there - ready and waiting to help. And that's
a big help to shelter operators that would otherwise have to pay the
bill all on their own.
