Hi my name is Joe and I have 6 ferrets. Recently one of my males(His
name is Hurley) has become very ill. He is just a few months over a
year( He was born April 29th 2011). Normally he is honestly the
energizer ferret. Literally he can be out 8 hours straight and not
stop for a nap. He is a big boy and eats a lot normally(They are being
fed Zupreem ferret Kibble). I thought I should include that my most
recently bought ferret I got a little over a week ago. He gets along
with everyone for the most part ( there are still some dominance
fights). But the day after I bought the new ferret Hurley became sick!
He has had diarrhea very bad. It started out as a reddish mucus now
it is almost sun-yellow. His pee is good. He is very tired. This what
scares me. He has never acted like this in his life. He won't play with
others or even run! He will walk around for roughly 5 minutes, but then
he goes and finds a place to sleep. He isn't eating that much but his
drinking is fine. Also he used to have a pot belly but now after just
a week he is super skinny! It is really scary! There has been no diet
change, no injuries, and I am almost 100% sure he didn't ingest some
thing. I wad hoping you guys could PLEASE get back to me as soon as
possible. Feel free to ask questions if I left anything out. Thanks!!!
Joe
P.S. I don't think the new ferret caused any of this. I kept the new
guy separate for a while to make sure he was healthy. Him and Hurley
are great pals! None of the other five are sick at all.
[Received a couple of days ago -- forwarded to the FML and I just
noticed it never arrived! BIG]
