I was scrolling through a list of avian & exotic animal veterinarians
on a website and my eye caught this man's name because I saw "ferret".
Has anyone ever heard of Dr. Schoemaker? Too bad you have to be a
member of this organization (LafeberVet) to read the Adrenocortical
Disease in Ferrets article under Dr. Schoemaker's bio. I can't tell
if he actually LIVES (currently) in Europe or just studied there.
Here's the link to the website: http://www.lafebervet.com/bios/
And right on the homepage there's an article titled "Esophagostomy
Tube Placement in the Ferret.". I did a search on "ferret" and up
came with a ton of stuff:

BIO for Dr. Nico Schoemaker: " Dr. Nico Schoemaker is a staff
veterinarian in the Division of Avian and Exotic Animal Medicine from
Utrecht University. Nico graduated and completed an internship in
companion animal medicine, followed by a residency in avian medicine
and surgery at Utrecht University. Dr. Schoemaker is a diplomate of the
European College of Avian Medicine and Surgery, a diplomate of the
American Board of Veterinary Practitioners certified in avian medicine,
and a Dutch avian specialist. This specialty training was followed by a
PhD study on hyperadrenocorticism in ferrets. He has written numerous
articles on avian and ferret medicine, and he has presented at many
conferences, workshops and post graduate courses locally and
internationally.
Read Adrenocortical Disease in Ferrets reviewed by Dr. Schoemaker."
(Awesome to see two doctors on the list that I know well and who have
treated my ferrets in the past: Dr. Cathy Johnson-Delaney and Dr. Adolf
Maas - both in the Seattle, WA area)
