What about liquid Carafate 15 to 30 minutes before the medications?
Helicobacter increases the chances that an ulceration may be beginning,
so bandaging the stomach beforehand with Carafate may work.

IMPORTANT: Carafate must be given sufficiently BEFORE any other
medication or any food. It acts like clay settling on a lake bottom,
so as you can imagine if it is given at the same time as other meds
or food it might coat them instead, preventing it from getting where
it will help, and preventing the body from being able to utilize the
coated particles of medication or food.

IMPORTANT: The liquid Carafate is a suspension and the pharmacy MUST
shake it INCREDIBLY well for there to be sufficient medication in
there. Otherwise, it not only will not work but the liquid can itself
can be a bit irritating. If it is not quite opaque when you shake it
instead of just cloudy then the pharmacy goofed up.

IMPORTANT: although this is a rather benign medication there are
medical contraindications for some preexisting conditions and some
more essential medications.

USEFUL to know: If you instead use the caplets dissolved in water do
NOT crust them. The caplets are actually designed to have capillaries
through them with air in them. That allows the water to infiltrate and
cause the caplet to "bloom" open after a while in water. It has been
some time since anyone here needed that so I do not recall the exact
timing, but a pharmacist will be able to tell you and that info is
likely at one of the drug sites. Carafate can be compounded, too.
