Statistically, GIVEN THAT the host who spit on you had HIV, the chances
of you contracting the disease are very small. Consider this: even in
the parts of Africa where the disease is rampant, in unprotected sex
the male stands about a 1/600 chance of contracting the disease from a
KNOWN DISEASED partner. However, the frequency of transmission is
rather larger, male to female.

Your eye stinging from transmission of some other virus or bacterium is
vastly more likely. If people could *FEEL* HIV transmission there would
be a lot less of it.
