and therefore saving the lives of ferrets...

Those who look will notice that a range of studies have been helped
by the labor or funds provided by ferret people. Recently, the Ferret
Health Advancement group work at Michigan State University (See my sig
lines.) was noted as being fully funded by ferret people. Not long ago
Dr. Robert Wagner of Penn State had a study published for which Barbara
Carlson did a good deal of the work and another ferret person funded
a decent portion of the study. In the past such donations have helped
support a range of studies which have advanced ferret health care and
saved ferret lives. Heck, even having ferrets not destroyed after bites
was made possible by the data from research that was largely supported
by personal donations; at that point it was money given to the Morris
Animal Foundation specifically for ferret health study work. The
generosity of ferret people can make all the difference in the world on
whether such work gets done in the first place. Please, let's all keep
such positive changes happening by helping those who help ferrets such
as FHA of MSU, Dr. Wagner, the ongoing genetic work of Michelle Hawkins
of UC Davis, and the excellent work of other established and
credentialed university researchers.
