First let me start out by saying that I am not the nasty anonymous
poster. I support her right to post what she feels. This is the US.
My question: I have a year old ferret. I purchased him from a breeder.
I specifically asked he not be neutered or de-scented I am not breeding
him. Just for health reasons. He is having signs of being in rut. Not
eating, getting aggressive, destroying his cage, Biting me at times.
etc. I think he may be testing his limits with me. Loves to go to my
spayed females cage and dook up a storm. Tries to get in. My male is
in a separate cage from her. She shares a cage. Could it just be that
he wants to play with her, just in his teenage stage? This is so
embarrassing. My other hob, showed signs of being in rut you could not
miss. I turned my baby hob upside down, and checked. I cannot find his
jewels. You could not miss them on my other hob. I am afraid they may
not have decended. My other thought is the breeder may have had him
neutered by mistake with her other kits. Or I got the wrong kit? Either
way I am keeping him.
PS: He is definitely not de-scented. He is a great poofer. Is he late
coming into rut. I am going to take him to a different vet. My current
vet probably never checked, took my word for it. We'll at least if he
is neutered, That will save me money and anxiety of getting him
neutered. I will be glad when he get through this stage.
I use the anonymous posting because I am not at my home computer.
