Ferrets can get swine flu.

There are over 100 known human cases (most in children) in Indiana and
Ohio but the transmission may be only from pigs though that is not yet
known for sure, so if anyone might have influenza do remember to get
medical care, to not sneeze on, cough on, or kiss ferrets, and to wash
hands often.

I think that swine flu may be in the upcoming flu vaccine in the U.S.
but not sure since I read the relevant paper some time ago, so worth
people checking. Okay, no: "The CDC has developed a candidate vaccine
for the new strain, and clinical trials of versions made by two
companies are expected this fall."
