Thanks for some great replies and a reminder to update the will. And at
least one good idea.
Here is what I am dealing with ASAP. The day after I posted, I had an
appointment to change my 401K/457K beneficiary. They come to this part
of the state only once a year. Can do it by snail mail, but they add a
lot of layers of red tape (hey...I am a government employee...govt =
best red-tapers I know!) I didn't change yet it but I DO have a form in
front of me to fill out and return by fax.
I can split it up into several different entities. Like I said,
something(s) for widespread ferret or ferret-shelter welfare. I do have
assets for my 3 ferrets and whoever gets them. Got other stuff for the
family to fight over.
I'm fairly certain the 401K/457K designated beneficiary(ies) can't be
contested. Easier to do and deal with than a visit to an attorney, so
some of you other ferrents might want to think about this also.
I need Name, Address, Tax ID (they also are asking for Birth date and
relationship, but that shouldn't apply here).
Thank you my friendly ferret-mommies and daddies.
Donna
