As a retired professional wildlife biologist, all I can say about the
Center for Biological Diversity is that in my opinion they continually
spew forth half truths and outright lies about the issues they are
interested in. They are not to be trusted at all. Their former lead guy
Daniel Patterson was recently forced to resign from the AZ legislature
over a messy domestic abuse charge.

As to the introduced domestic ferrets having caused the extirpation of
any native NZ species.those claims remain unproven. However the ferrets
are easier to trap than the stoats or stoat hybrids so they tend to get
the attention. Source Dr Carolyn Kings various publications on the
subject and you can educate yourselves accordingly. Other introduced
species have caused far more damage to native NZ wildlife.the prime
culprits being feral cats and of course rats.
