Greetings Boys, Girls and Humans,
To: Paul & Shellie - I am very sorry to hear about your 2 lost
fuzzies. I would be devastated and probably would have went
for the gun also..good thing you didn't though! Best of Luck
recovering!
To: Rich Chandler - Find somewhere else to live or try to keep 'em
clandestine. I was able to keep mine in the dorm when we
were supposed not have pets. In fact the RA would stop by on a
regular basis, and never once smelled, heard, or saw him. Of
course he wasn't out searching my pad either. I also had
an apartment for 8 months and got away with that also. You do
have to smuggle in supplies and keep the ferret hidden when
untrusting visitors stop in. Good Luck
To: Pamela Greene - Sending in pieces to the FML is a good idea, but
I will also request a copy sent intact. Thanxs!!
To: Dr. Williams - You responded a week or better ago to my post
regarding whether my ferret had an adrenal tumor. You suggested
that my ferrets falling over was probably due to low blood
sugar caused by Pancreatic tumors. I have been to the vet several
times since then and the following are the results. His glucose level
was 42 when I 1st brought him in. At the same time the vet did an
insulin to glucose ration test which came back normal. My question
is, for ferrets, is this a valid test? To what level can the results be
takem? We also did a specific test to determine the liver because the
xray showed in being very small. This is due to the fact that the Spleen
is enlarged and is pushing the stomach into it. The liver test
came back as OK. Anyway, the vet recommends an exploratory. The
ferret is currently on Prednisolone and is also a Karo syrup junkie.
The eztimate for the surgery is ~ $300. The Doc. that would be operating
has some experience with ferrts and has operated on 5 this year. That
is all I really know about him. You comments and observations would be
appreciated. Thanxs!!
Well, this is long enough! Until next time ...Hug your fuzzies .....
Art the Human ; Guy the Ferret.
