This is an open FML ANNIVERSARY letter to the full FML membership,
with a URL for BIll to especially enjoy that all FML members can feel
free to use as intended:

Bill, many people wanted to say thank you without you having to
moderate all the comments (though you'll enjoy the ones you do
moderate, too).

Many more will also want to thank you who do not yet know about this
URL below.

Because we all wanted to surprise you so mention of the location has
only been by word of mouth:

[Yes, it was indeed a surprise. BIG]

***The site will remain up for at least another two weeks for anyone
else who wants to add to the current 100+ thank you notes (on three
pages of the site).***

FML Members, if you have not yet done so, don't forget to learn about
the origin of the FML:

[Contest alert! BIG]

We realize that you are modest, Bill, but no one gets to work to help
thousands of others for all but a handful of days over 18 years without
being thanked!

You know that commercial where a young woman is asked how many
friends she has and she replies something like, "Four... thousand and
seventy-five" and how the first thought that comes to mind is, "How can
those be real friends? What has she done to make their lives better?"
In most cases, the answers are, "They can't and she didn't." In the
case of Bill Gruber, though, there are thousands of people who benefit
from his hard work every single day and appreciate that greatly. Those
include everyone now on the FML, everyone who has been a past FML
member, everyone who has benefitted from something created thanks to
the FML existing (just two of those many examples being the SOS and
the FHL), everyone who has learned from Bill's portion of the IFC
work, those Bill helps through the Red Cross, and more.

THANK YOU, BILL GRUBER, for being there every day for the last 18 of
those 25 years, and THANK YOU CHRIS LEWIS AND PAT PALEY for creating
the FML and running it for most of the first 7 years.

I guess the next large anniversary is November (date?) 2014 when you
will have owned and moderated the FML for 20 years, BIll!

The FML is the wellspring from which so much of the ferret world has
flowed. Thank you for being there to keep it running.
