My vet used a belly shot. It was the first time I saw one and I thought
it was the most peaceful death I'd seen yet in a ferret. He just went
to sleep and it took about 5 minutes for his heart to stop but there
was no whimpering, no pain, no convulsions, etc. I just held him and
talked softly to him until he was officially pronounced.
