The symptoms (coughing up blood, blood in stool, and kidney failure)
appear to be identical to what my sister's dog experienced after eating
dog food with tainted ingredients from China. The vets and animal
organizations were not sure exactly what the toxic substance was but
they did narrow it down to tainted food.

I would have the food analyzed and see what you come up with.
