The Ferret Assn of CT was contacted about 4 ferrets on Long Island that
need a shelter asap.

Can someone in NY, NJ or PA help? FACT is over-loaded right now and we
cannot take any more in at all.

A lady on Long Island had a tenant leave behind 4 ferrets that she
believes are relatively young. She's been caring for them for about a
month and is willing to do so for a little longer but needs a shelter
for them. The only local one she found that would take them said they
would promptly put them down. (!) She doesn't want that to happen,
she needs a REAL shelter . Her name is Miranda and her phone is
516-404-8539. She doesn't have e-mail. I told her I'd put out the
word and SOMEBODY would reach out to her.

Please let us know have been able to help.

I know that there are a couple of big shows coming up so perhaps
transport can be arranged if a shelter further on can take them?

Alternatively, if anyone knows of a ferret-friendly humane organization
on Long Island or in Southern New York, that would also be a viable
alternative.

Thank you,

Ann Gruden
