This is Nell in Ethiopia.
Jonas has lost his hair again, fairly suddenly, and today he got a
sunburn! I hear that human sunblock is bad for dogs, so I assume the
same's true for ferrets. What do you recommend?
He was a silver ferret as a youngster, then became a black-eyed
white w one black nostril and one black dot on his head, and is now
basically a pink guy w white head, tail, and limbs -- and one black
nostril.
Sound like adrenal to you? He is lively and seems like a normal old
man except for his hair. Quite some time ago I read in Williams or
Queensbury that an adrenal ferret can be symptom-free other than the
cosmetics of hair, and that no treatment is needed in that case. But
I am going to check that I remember correctly, and we are going back
to our Swiss vet when she gets back from a field trip related to her
wild-animal job.
Nonetheless, any advice wd be welcome while we wait.
