Subject:
un-sprialing tp and towel rolls is a good habit. . .

Zorro, if he could use the computer, would like to thank everyone
who unwinds paper tubes before putting them anywhere a ferret might
possibly get a hold of it--and would like once again to announce that,
once it has been safely unwound, it turns into one of his favortie
toys. He rolls around inside, letting it wind and unwind like some
kind of giant slinky spring, and we know he can safely do so. We put
a picture of him inside an opened-out tube on our holiday letter one
year--he's wearing it and his sister is being a "flat ferret" and
looking immensely bored, watching him.

It's like cutting the corners off a bag and snipping the handholds so
that little heads cannot get stuck--or shuffling your feet as you go
through the room--or checking for little friends before you sit
down--or not allowing them to play with bags or unwound rolls (that
we call "sproings") without supervision!

It's just the things that one does, when one is owned by ferrets!

Kate (currently owned by "George & Michaela," nicknamed "Zorro &
Mickey"--a dark-and-dashing big sable boy and a sweet-and-spunky
tiny red-headed girl)
