My little sweet ferret Skittles, who was between 9-10 years, lost the
battle to insulinoma. She had been failing the past 6 weeks, in spite
of increasing the pred and the adding diazoxide to her meds. She was
buried this morning in one of my tshirts, with a ribbon she had won at
a local humane society costume contest a few years ago.
Are there any shelters out there that can use 3/4 full bottle of
prednisolone and 2/3 bottle of diazoxide (beef/chicken flavored, sugar
free)? Ideally, if they could be picked up as the diazoxide needs to be
refrigerated, so a little cooler or icepack would be good to take it
in. I live near Ocean City, NJ. I would be happy to donate this,
especially since Skittles herself came from a shelter. My email is
