The 10/26 Rabbits against Magic includes a ferret: http://www.gocomics.com/rabbitsagainstmagic/2013/10/26/ By now I would guess that most here would have heard about this: <http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/26/health/fda-moves-to-regulate-food-for-animals.html> BTW, as you probably know, companies do not have to put the country of origin on their ingredients, and being costly does not mean that poor materials are not used. Neither does loads of advertising (which is itself incredibly costly -- especially if on television -- so the companies have to make up the difference somewhere). The best way I know to find which companies were just fine with using cheap ingredients from China (no matter what they claim) is to look at the list of recalls during the melamine problem and looking at other recalls does not hurt, either. http://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/default.htm Then use the menu. For instance, if the URLs work right as direct URLs rather than just search ones this sould get to the 2007 melamine problem and you can progress from there to see what works: <http://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/SafetyHealth/RecallsWithdrawals/ucm129575.htm> Sukie (not a vet) Ferrets make the world a game.
