With so many ferrets having Helicobacter mustelae, even though I do not know of any of the studies done on this treatment approach being in ferrets, these links might provide food for thought. It seems that in some other species which get their own species of Helicobacter using certain probiotics (especially Lactobacillus) as part of the treatment helps. Do note that the probiotics did NOT get rid of the Helicobacter when tried alone so when used they have to be used along with known treatments.
