in memory of many furred and feathered souls, of the CEO-helpmate
who died in October of 2010 and in sympathy with all other
animal-care-persons everywhere.
http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/ferret_rescuer/index.html

Shelter-care-persons are seen
sometimes against the walls they lean;
Lots of cages to be cleaned
and lots of poop to scoop!
Keeping ferrets off their "mean"
meant separating groups.
The birds each needed their wing-room
the cats wished they could see
where the birds'd inside-zoom
The dogs their guardians Be!
Hand-feeding elderly and ill
every four hours and yet still
finding some time between the scoops
to cook up more of get-well-Soup
a Gallon of it ferrets'd eat
in every three days of the week
and meanwhile all that's going about
we must, the healthy adopt out.
Guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits
all separated from ferrets
Each cared-for and adopted-out
'Cause that's what shelter-work's about!
:)
