This is Susie Lee of the now-closed Ferret & Dove Sanctuary, Inc. I
got a pleasant surprise in the spring-summer edition of the M.E.B.A.
"Marine Officer" magazine.

On page 42 of that magazine they featured Wesley Hurley's one-paragraph
obituary with a prominent mention of the work he loved the most and
best, working with the ferrets in The Ferret and Dove Sanctuary, Inc.
after his retirement from 33 years as a Merchant Marine officer in
1998. I have posted a copy of it here...

and here is the part that Wes would have been Most proud and happy
over..." Brother Hurley ran The Ferret and Dove Sanctuary, Inc. with
his wife, Susan Lee. The Sanctuary helped (find homes) for dogs, cats,
hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, parakeets, cockatiels, ferrets, doves,
and various other animals. ...He is survived by his wife who had to
close the Sanctuary after Brother Hurley's death, but who still
dedicates a webpage to his memory. "

I sent a copy to each of Wes's grown children, already got back one
answer saying "Very Nice!" :)
