apt. and building staff everywhere, it's hard enough to house, care
for, hide and pay for medical costs for two.

If I hadn't adopted my two in July, I definitely would have taken them.
These situations never seem to come up when I'm looking for ferrets to
adopt. [...]39_12Dec201212:21:[log in to unmask] 1212 3042 19 26_Re: NYC Ferrets in Shelter16_Anonymous [log in to unmask], 13 Dec 2012 00:13:41 -0500508_- I was going to head up to the shelter after work tomorrow (as I'm out
of town at the moment) to see if they still had the ferrets. But this
is what I found out about New Hope:

http://www.nycacc.org/newhope.htm

What im assuming is that they handed the ferrets over to this program
to bring them to a legal area. I'm almost positive that any ferret that
is turned into a NYC shelter is supposed to be "disposed of"... luckily
most place send them out of the city. [...]38_13Dec201200:13:[log in to unmask] 1212 3062 22 20_Re: Scared to [log in to unmask], 12 Dec 2012 03:52:42 -0800345_- Just a suggestion.

We had 4 or 5 ferrets who didn't like newbies, so adopting new ferrets
was always difficult. We would have to police our ferrets and break up
any attacks over and over, and we could not put newbies in the same
cage at night. This would often take months for them to be accepted as
part of the group. [...]39_12

Hi FML'rs, over the years, we've heard pretty much everything. What
bothers me is folks who'll turn down a ferret who is deaf or blind.
These ferrets are fine...they don't know they can't hear or see. Yes,
sometimes they might startle when picked up, but when they realize
there's no harm or they sniff their human, all is well. Please give
these guys a chance, because they don't know that anything is "wrong"
with them. Thanks...
