The Final Kiss

Soon again, I'll say goodbye,
you'd think that I'd learn not to cry.
You'd think that I'd be good at this,
the final breath, the final kiss.

But each and each and every time,
I cannot stop the tears I cry.
I am not good at letting go,
oh how my heart is breaking so.

I know that this is for the best,
It's always been, just like the rest.
But harder it just seems to be,
I so love you, you so love me.

Sleep now my darling, now you sleep,
your memory in my heart iI'll keep.
I never will be good at this,
the final breath, the final kiss.

S. Pyron
