Here is an article about the baby who allegedly lost his fingers to an
"attack ferret" that was of such a concern to us in the past. Its an
update about the parents and their appearance in court:

<http://www.kansascity.com/2011/09/19/3154167/parents-of-boy-attacked-by-ferret.html>

Yes, the papers are still referring to ferrets as if they "attack" like
a rabid dog. And yes, it appears that the authorities will never back
down and will continue to dig in their heels in saying that this was
an "attack", and that the ferret ate ALL of the fingers all on its own,
and that the dog or parents couldn't have had anything to do with it.
There is no way a legitimate necropsy and testing of all animals
present was done. They hide the reports which is extremely odd. Even if
they didn't keep those reports close to their chests, I'd be suspicious
due to their outrageous words in the past. Did that examiner have
enough experience with human and animal tissues to differentiate
between the two? Was he an expert in ferret anatomy to know how much
mass a ferrets stomach can hold? Did they test the dog or excrements?
Did they adequately investigate the home and test the swing? All they
have kept saying over and over is that the ferret attacked the baby
and ate the fingers without a doubt and won't answer anything else let
alone show the test results. All along they have overtly refused to
discuss this with any ferret experts. How can you conduct a good
investigation like that?

The local authorities there have been belligerent and even rude through
this entire thing. Usually behavior and words reflect intelligence (or
ignorance). In any case, the most the authorities ever said about the
report was that there was blood found in the ferrets stomach. BIG
difference.

In our wildest imaginations even if every ounce of tissue was inside
that ferret? Note that in the eyes of the authorities and media, the
parents are always the side note and that the ferret was vicious and
evil. The evil ones are the parents that got drunk (and high?), left
a tiny infant alone all night (not just this time), neglected their
dogs in the past (if I remember correctly), and then bashed a tiny
defenseless animal against a wall killing it.

Disgusted and going back to kiss my furry angel faces.

Peace out (not),
Wolfy
