As some of you know I got Chloey on the Saturday before Christmas.
While she wasn't abused at all, she was also not socialized.
She would bite me so hard that it not only broke the skin but would
leave giant bruises on me. When I let her out of the cage she would run
and hide. Not wanting anything to do with me. The only time I could
pick her up without getting bit was right after she woke up. Otherwise
she was either hiding or trying to bite me.
She still nips now, but has gotten tons better. And she has gotten to
where she only bites if I move too fast when going to pick her up while
she's out of the cage. And then today, she almost made me cry.
I was sitting in my chair, as I usually do and I felt my blanket move.
(I have a blanket over my lap because I just had my knee replaced and
the dog likes to jump up on me.)
I looked down and there was no dog. So I freaked a little until I
realized it was Chloey. She crawled up and cuddled with me for about 5
seconds and then went for the FerreTone. I only give her a few drops a
day, just so she can start to trust me and know that mommy has good
stuff. And to make sure she knows that I'm not going to hurt her.
I know it may not seem like much, but it means the world to me.
