Yes, I think that you are right, plus since the med had not been
given for so long initially there would have been the same short
term worsening effect as the 24 hour Lupron can cause:

http://www.miamiferret.org/24hr_lupron.htm

When Lupron and other drugs in that class like deslorelin implants are
given in time that effect does not happen, but because of this effect
trying to use the 24 hour Lupron as a long term drug or trying to use
the horse deslorelin instead of the Suprelorin implant can cause
adrenal disease to worsen.

If the ferret had one of the potentially fatal complications of adrenal
disease there are also additional meds which MUST be used. People can
read about the meds for prostatic complications and for marrow
suppression in both the FML Archives and the FHL Archives. Check my
sig lines, the header of the FML, and the homepage of the FHL to find
those; both are easily used. BTW, when you read about our late Telemna
(since we also treated for that in case it was the cause of her
problems because there just was a short window to try to save her)
it turned out when all test results and follow-up were done that she
instead had Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia.
