On carpets, I use Spot Shot, around $5 for a spray bottle
(non-aerosol). Non-toxic for pets and children, biodegradable, etc.
Works well on just about any stain and is specifically geared toward
pet messes.

You can also try putting down newspaper and/or paper towels in the spot
where they insist on going to the bathroom.
