Dear Shelterer,
On this Thanksgiving Day, it is appropriate to look at the gift you
give to helpless little creatures in your care. They cannot give
material things, but the heart does not need them.
It is good that you love, for we know you will not get to go away for a
visit anywhere. We know that when others are sleeping in, you will be
cleaning litter boxes and giving medicines. When others settle in for
a piece of pumpkin pie or an afternoon nap, you will be filling food
bowls and pouring fresh water.
At this time of year it is natural to look at what we have done up to
this point. For all the things you have done that you think have gone
unnoticed -- someone saw. May God richly bless you as you have blessed
the little lives that have crossed your path. We will lift a special
prayer for you this Thanksgiving.
With hearts of gratitude,
From Alaska: Odie, Duncan, Isadora, Koko, Famous Amos (the cat) & their
human mom, Renee
