Hey FML,
About a month ago, I took in two little girls to vet, and foster until
a perm home is found. Well..I fell in love with them and their antics.
They reminded me greatly of my two boys that I lost over the winter.
Nyu is questionable color as she is almost completely bald with
adrenal. My vet said to wait on the lupron (I never wait so not sure
why I did this time) and that her vulva isn't big so the hormones
aren't soaring. Lucy is a little black eyed white girl with a aditude
to match. I'm hoping her fighting behavior isn't due to adrenal but
it's possible.
I was hoping to keep these girls as people rarely want adrenal kids or
older ferrets but my ground of 11 just won't settle. Lucy fights with
anyone in her hammock and has gotten jack jack after her. Jack is a
simple old man who doesn't do anything. She only had let lelloo, and
ripply in her hammock. Nyu has been really fearfull of all other
ferrets after some of my more naughty girls got a hold of her poor
scruff. I haven't seen bite marks from yesterdays visit but I think
the damage is already done psychologically.
So while my heart is screaming and hurting, I don't think these girls
would fit into my pack and living in a cage 24/7 just doesn't seem
fair.
My location is Fredericksburg, Va. And these girls would need a more
experienced family. Possible someone that doesn't mind shelling out
cash every three months for a lupron shot and other med's for their
needs? They got a all clear from a ferret vet in Woodbridge last month.
adolption fee: None but you have to sign a contract, get a home visit,
and get a ferret proofed area for these two special girls
Thanks,
Foster Ferrent of Toodle Tuff Foster Program
