Concerning the octo-toy...I've washed ours a few times - on cold water,
gentle cycle, and lay it out to dry. If it has fuzz on it (fuzzy hair,
not "pilling") I first put it in the dryer on low for 15-20 mins, then
complete drying on the table.

So far it's held up well. :)
