FACT is ready to try to help if we can with the ferrets if they are
going to need placement. Anyone with contacts/information from that
area?

Not sure what the laws are in New York. In some jurisdictions the
animals are impounded "as evidence and placed in limbo unless
voluntarily "surrendered" to a humane organization. It's not clear
from the limited amount of information in this brief.
