Lisette, thank you for pointing out some of the cons of having ferrets.
I know you speak from experience, and with great love for ferrets

For those that are newer FML members, Lisette is a expert when it comes
to most anything ferret. I remember Lisette's ferret Minnie Me, her
serious biting, and how Lisette dealt with her. I had a bad biter at
the time too, and her posts helped me to understand my ferret. Then
there was Princess Poopalota. Ah yes, the little dear that left her
presents anywhere and everywhere. Lisette, was she the little sunburned
girl you rescued?

What I tell people is a ferret is not for everyone. I have 16 in my
home that once *belonged* to someone else. All poop in the litter box,
or not. All will shred carpet if they can. All have been sick, or will
get sick and rack up a huge vet bill.

Ferrets need attention, the kid is going to get tired of feeding it let
alone cleaning up after it. The ferret will be *yours* mom.....

Live in a rental? Don't hope to get your deposit back when you move.
That one little area of shredded carpet by the door, the one that
happened in the time it took you to get ready for work will take all
of your deposit money to fix.

Have small children? One little toenail scratch *could* have DSS
calling at your door. Grandma/neighbor/friend/teacher did read about
the ferret eating the baby.......

No, ferrets are NOT legal to own in CA, even though your friend has
one, and the stores sell ferret stuff.

good/bad pets.
Maybe

Ardith
