Livers in general are rather good at getting problems from a range of things including something eaten that should not have been and viruses, BUT livers are GREAT at regenerating as long as the source of the problem is gone and the damage has not become too huge. So, it could have been that the ferret had an illness caused the problem, but who knows? Rare complications exist for any med but so do coincidences.
