There are three female and one male cat in our household.

The female cats do the same thing. My daughter outs them by announcing
that the cats have been *bitch slapping* each other again!

The male cat usually retreats to the top of the tall bookcase when
power issues occur among the females, which we refer to as "Einstein's
Man Cave."
